Last Paddle of the Season

Jayne was in town last weekend awaiting the birth of Leslie's new baby, Leslie seems to take 41 weeks to make a baby so Jayne came up here from Moab for the weekend to spend tome with mom. I managed to talk her into going paddling with us and Thomas and Monica on the Great Salt Lake on what looked to be the last warm weekend of the season.

According to my sister Ann, the lake is at its lowest point in 50 years. The marina is on exposed concrete and Egg Island is no longer an island. But it was beautiful and great to get out.

Kili the dog does really well on Thomas and Monica's red canoe, but she was a little betrayed when the water was so salty.

John gallantly offered to let Jayne paddle our tandem kayak and he borrowed one of Annie's. It was one of the few times I have been in the back and realized that keeping us straight is harder than it looks.

The calm before the holiday storm.
